Woggle Hopping Festival in Wilton Park in Honour of Local Legend George Corner
We’re so excited to invite you to this year’s Woggle Hopping Festival in Wilton Park! It’s happening on Sunday 3rd August 2025, from 12pm to 4pm, and it’s completely FREE.
This fun-filled afternoon is in honour of George Corner—a true Batley character known for his cheeky and charming hobby: woggle hopping! If you’ve never heard of it, think of someone jumping over bollards and post boxes with a big grin on their face. That was George. And we think that joy deserves celebrating.
There’ll be loads to do for the whole family, including:
- A bouncy castle
- Face painting
- Welly wanging
- And loads more surprises!
It’s going to be a lovely day in the park, with something for everyone—kids, grown-ups, and anyone who enjoys a good giggle. Come along, bring your friends, and help us celebrate the spirit of George Corner in true Batley style.
